STRAIGHT FROM THE SOURCE

"Wore the 5/4 for the first time today. Early March, in the Northeast, water 38, air 42 and thankfully no wind. Fit was amazing, so comfortable. Before getting in the water was concerned because 38 degree water was pushing what 5mm was rated for, and normally at this time of year would be wearing a 6mm suit with a fuzzy lining. In terms of warmth was very comfortable, not cold at all.

Yamamoto neoprene just feels like nothing else. People complain about its initial stiffness, but in the water it's non-restrictive and  just incredibly flexible, and it pretty much molds to your body. Since it absorbs so little water, the suit never feels heavy, unlike every other wetsuit not made from top Yamamoto materials. Getting it on was easy, other than it took some fiddling with the floodgate. More importantly was so easy to take off when wet, especially smooth getting my shoulders free. For those who surf in the winter, there is nothing worse than struggling to get a suit off when it’s cold out and your hands are frozen, definitely not the case with this one.

Well done!"

MADE BY XIIIG (AKA “13G”)

Never Faking The Funk

Real is real: 00 BY XIIIG Wetsuits are unquestionably the finest on the planet. Aka unapologetically best-in-class everything — with zero exceptions in quality or performance. As well as a total dedication to brand integrity by doing what is right (and true) by the customer. In other words:

  • We don’t switch-up suppliers to use lesser-than materials & then try to convince people that it’s still something top shelf (If you know, you know)
  • We don’t strive for mediocrity by laminating basic sandpaper-esque nylons that pill like crazy & absorb water like a sponge (We see you)
  • We don’t contribute to over consumption, deep discounting & ultimately excessive landfill waste by intentionally designing for obsolescence: using seam placement & construction methods that are guaranteed to fail (Big facts)

PREMIUM PRODUCT FUNDAMENTALS

Like ad meliora means onto better things

WARMER

Via Yamamoto’s OG Optimum Technology – a perfectly uniform closed-cell structure that looks like tiny hexagons and is 99% water impermeable (compared to the standard 65% via oil-derived neoprene). Unlike “factory-pricing” knock-off’s, OG Optimum Technology is also enhanced by Ti-Alpha (Titanium-Alpha): a unique titanium alloy between the rubber & nylon that reflects body heat back inwards -- better balancing the body’s thermostatic line

LIGHTER

Because of the water that your suit doesn’t absorb (and via the most tear-resistant, pill-proof & hydrophobic 4-way stretch nylon in the game – also excellent for kiteboard harnesses). Ask anyone that knows their wetsuits: Ultra-low water absorption makes for a quick-drying wetsuit (always preferable for the next session). Just like a tighter-fit in the dressing room most often translates to more functional suit in the water (with your suit breaking-in over time)
MORE SUSTAINABLE

MORE SUSTAINABLE

Slowing down over-consumption via a premium wetsuit that represents durable performance. Made via longer-lasting limestone-based rubber that is derived from a Japanese source of calcium carbonate with several thousand years of readily available deposits

MORE FLEXIBLE

Yamamoto's Titanium coated OG Optimum Technology rubber stretches over 355% its size – while maintaining excellent elastic memory. In other words, after the first few sessions, a 00 BY XIIIG wetsuit “breaks-in” like a baseball glove & adjusting its shape to the user's silhouette

FEATURES & DETAILS

This material significantly adds to wetsuit longevity – maintaining overall shape & memory. This nylon negates the need for a fuzzy hollow-fiber lining (which inevitably absorbs water – increasing weight & evaporative heat loss).

Key point: This is the only nylon we use – aka there is no substitute or excuse for anything less
