COMPANY HISTORY

John V. Campbell is the Founder & CEO of CKTH.

In 2005, John began his work with the Yamamoto Corporation. For his first brand -- as Founder, CEO & Creative Director from 2005 to 2018 -- John managed all product, business & creative operations.

United by a shared dedication to apex standards, including best-of-the-best materials technology, uncompromising design & unfailing commitment to excellence, John worked closely with Tommy Yamamoto & his father: the legendary Japanese industrialist & innovator, Keiichi Yamamoto. 

Together, their efforts further refined the Japanese company’s unique limestone-based rubber offering. In doing so, they also helped re-position the product to pioneer a new quality standard for the global wetsuit category. 

As the last Westerner to ever meet with Keiichi, the Yamamoto Family provided John with an everlasting honor of being one of three speakers at Keiichi's memorial service in downtown Osaka, Japan in 2009 (the then Japanese Prime Minister of Japan was also in attendance, sitting front-row to pay his respects).

In the two decades since their first meeting, John, Tommy & the Yamamoto Corporation continue their collaboration: giving CKTH, XIIIG & 00 BY XIIIG unparalleled access to ground-breaking & functionally superior innovations in material technology.

In addition to spearheading the physical product development for XIIIG Apparel & 00 BY XIIIG Wetsuits, John also collaborates with a network of industry-leading & like-minded community partners.
